Develop computer programs in appropriate computer language for solution of mathematical, scientific and business problems by electronic data processing equipment.
Analyze system specifications and develop sequence of program steps; convert into detailed logical flow charts, decision tables and other media graphically displaying sequence of operations on data processed by the computer system.
Translate flow charts, decision tables or other instructions into appropriate computer language; execute trial runs to verify accuracy and completeness of program; correct errors by making necessary alterations to test programs and processing specifications.
Assist in the analysis of specific organizational and procedural problems and in the design or modification of computer programs to implement computer applications; test and debug new programs to verify their accuracy and completeness.
Document program showing input, output and arithmetic and logical execution of the program.
Maintain existing programs; analyze, review and rewrite programs to increase operating efficiency or to adapt new requirements.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Education: | Work requires college training equivalent to non-technical Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in mathematics or computer science or equivalent technical training. |
Experience: | Work requires two years experience in programming in a widely used computer language. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE |
