Perform a variety of duties associated with the receipt, pricing, display and sale of merchandise in the hospital gift shop.
Coordinate the receipt of incoming merchandise, coding and pricing of items for sale and displaying of merchandise; assist customers in selecting merchandise by describing quality, style or utility of articles.
Coordinate services of volunteers working in the gift shops.
Advise supervisor of necessary purchases and selling potential of various articles.
Sell a variety of merchandise; record all sales; receive payment and issue change.
Assist in inventory of all merchandise in the gift shops. Make work assignments; review of lower level employees; assist in training new personnel.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
Education: | Work requires knowledge of basic grammar and mathematical principles to maintain proper inventory counts and to handle sales transactions, generally acquired through a high school education. |
Experience: | Work requires five years of customer service or retail store experience including cash register operation experience. |
