General Description of the Job Class

Manage the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of plumbing, sprinkler and medical gases systems

 

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

Operate, maintain and test, plumbing, mechanical equipment, fire protection, medical gases and high purity water systems. Coordinate new systems installations.

Purchase material, parts, equipment, and services to support operations. Prepare written documentation and reports needed for regulatory compliance, licensure, and accreditation surveys.

Provide technical guidance and direction to other personnel. Schedule preventive maintenance and repairs on plumbing systems and equipment

 

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education:

Work requires an educational background normally equivalent to high school plus 2 years of technical training relating to the installation and maintenance of plumbing systems.

 

Experience:

Work requires five years of experience in performing a full range of tasks associated with the installation and maintenance of plumbing systems.

or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

 

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification:

N.C. Plumbing Licence
