Be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.
Display a professional attitude, greets patients
Interprets optical prescriptions.
Fits and services optical appliances such as spectacle frames and lenses.
Operate manual lensometer, auto-lensometer
Assists with contact lens insertion and removal training.
Assists with ordering contact lenses and eyeglasses from vendors.
Verify and enter billing information.
Collect patient payments.
Obtain authorizations from insurance companies if necessary.
Enter and post patient payments.
Check in eyeglass and contact lens orders (verify prescription meets ANSI standards)
Answers phone.
Seats and calls patients.
Comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA
Notifies patients when optical products are ready for pick up.
Checks on status of orders.
Inputs and maintains patient information in the computer and charting system.
Cleans displays.
Filing
Mandatory trainings/education meetings, occasionally before 8:00AM or after 5:30PM
Perform other duties as described herein.
Education: | High school diploma or general education degree (GED) |
Experience: | One-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience |

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: | Ability to communicate professionally, in both verbal and written communication Basic PC and data entry skills Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively under stressful situations |
