Responsible for reconciliation of patient charges to Charge Master system. Responsibilities include chart maintenance, quality management review and assurance of proper billing for patients. Additionally, this position will facilitate the smooth operation of the Nursing Departments by performing multiple complex and confidential tasks for the various Directors of Nursing and by coordinating administrative activities which may include personnel, budgets, and records maintenance. May compile, store and retrieve management data for the preparation of recurring reports, and performs other administrative-related activities as assigned. May have duties and responsibilities involving knowledge and application of hospital policies and procedures requiring independent judgment in the determination of actions to be taken. Requires the analysis of facts and circumstances to conclude and make recommendations for solving administrative problems. Possesses autonomy in performing administrative functions through to completion. Work with entering charges in the ED and other areas where applicable. Help to develop and balance schedules. Develop and maintain department level reports.
| Education: | High school degree or equivalent required, college preferred. Completion of medical terminology/coding highly preferred. |
| Experience: | At least 1 year of previous experience required. Proficient with basic computer skills. Knowledge of regulations for billing and charge methodology preferred. Advanced skills with Microsoft computer applications preferred. |
