General Description of the Job Class

The Associate Vice President of the Duke Health Integrated Practice is responsible for the direction and oversight of multiple departmental units / programs within the DHIP. The Associate Vice President, DHIP coordinates with other Leadership and staff to ensure that all operational and management functions are aligned and optimized to meet or exceed DHIP strategic goals.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

Support DHIP leadership with productivity improvement efforts to include analysis of departments and processes.

Provide leadership in clinical performance and patient satisfaction improvement processes. Manage the balanced scorecard program and reporting of related performance metrics. Provide analytical support as required in support of performance improvement teams.

Manage contracts, offsite agreements for professional services and coverage agreements.

Coordinate and oversee operational improvement activities as appropriate, including monitoring and reporting of improvement efforts.

Facilitate the development and implementation of reporting to provide ongoing monitoring of operational performance, major initiatives, routine reporting of key quality and patient safety metrics in support of the ongoing quality management process.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

 

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education:

Work requires organizational, analytical and communication skills acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program in a business or other applicable healthcare-related field directly related to the department.

A master's degree in a business or healthcare-related field is strongly preferred.

 

Experience:

Requires eight years of progressive management experience in a healthcare environment.

Strong leadership presence and skills.

Proven capabilities in building and leading teams.

Ability to work with others in a cooperative, collaborative manner.

Strong written and oral communication skills.
