The VP, Compliance and Administration is the facilitator of administrative functions of Duke University Health System as well as the DUHS Chief Compliance Officer and the Duke Health Privacy Officer. This position serves as a key administrator, supporting the Executive Vice President and Operating Officer (EVP) to collaborate with DUHS, DHIP and SOM leaders to manage Duke Health strategic and tactical priorities. Ensures timely flow of information to and from the EVP.
Directs the compliance office and activities for DUHS.
Directs the privacy office and HIPAA privacy activities for Duke Health.
Collaborates with leadership teams across DHIP and DUHS regarding process improvements, new services and affiliations
Strategically coordinates activities with DHIP and SOM leaders to implement DHIP transition and prioritize services
Collaborates with DHIP management, Physician Services Office, and Counsel to manage DUHS, DHIP and DUAP employment agreements and APP employment and coordinate and SOM academic/research changes, including monitoring Veteran Administration MOU
Creates and leads cross-functional teams to implement DUHS initiatives. Oversees operating strategies and key developments to meet timeframes.
Works with operational and regulatory staff to evaluate allegations, compliance with regulatory requirements and respond to regulatory agencies
Directs a team responsible for analyzing audit reports and formulating improvements to departmental operations
Directs the monitoring of operational functions with Audit and Compliance Offices to evaluate effective controls
Assesses and implements institutional policies
Maintains clinical and administrative conflict of interest policies and manage COI process and management plans
Manages DUHS enterprise risk management process
Oversees day-to-day administrative activities provide necessary guidance and decisions on behalf of EVP Office
Represents EVP in internal and community meetings; facilitates Communications, including oral and written, across entities
Education: | Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, while graduate level preparation (MA, MS, MD, JD, PhD, or other degree) is preferred |
Experience: | Minimum 10 years of health care experience |
