General Description of the Job Class

Answer and refer incoming long distance, local and inter-communication calls that require special attention and information research.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

Answer and refer incoming long distance, local and inter-communication calls that require special attention and information research.

Research information request when necessary information is unavailable.

Maintain a current listing of senior staff and house staff on call, patient, staff and student telephone and paging numbers and special events and conferences occuring in and around the Medical Center.

Page personnel whose names appear on master listing; locate staff members on and off University property.

Maintain current listing of telephone and paging numbers incorporating changes and new assignments as they occur.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education

Work requires knowledge of basic clerical and communication principles generally acquired through a high school education.

Experience

Work generally requires six months of experience in patient/public contact position.

OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
