General Description of the Job Class
Supervise and participate in the construction, installation, modification, maintenance and repair of electrical appliances, systems, facilities and related electronic controls and devices.
Duties and Responsibilities of this Level
Supervise and participate in the construction, installation, modification, maintenance and repair of electrical appliances, systems, facilities and related electronic controls and devices by interpreting blueprints, manufacturers specifications, written and verbal instructions.Plan and schedule work for the group ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space and facilities for subsequent performance of duties.Assist in the establishment of preventive maintenance programs for Medical Center electrical systems and facilities.Train and instruct new employees.Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.Supervise various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules.Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Required Qualifications at this Level
Education
Work requires educational background normally equivalent to high school plus 2 years of formal technical training in the principles of electricity and electrical designs.
Experience
Work requires 2 years of journeyman's experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures from blueprints, schematics and sketches.Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification
Work requires North Carolina electrician licensure or certification.
