General Description of the Job Class

Monitor clients during swimming and aquatics classes. Performs routine daily maintenance and cleaning. Open pool, turn on/off alarm accordingly. Assist patrons with sign in and out. Monitor client ID badges for appropriate medical clearance information. Knowledge of Lenox Baker Children???s Hospital emergency procedures and chemical MSDS procedures. Implement appropriate emergency plan in the event of any incident occurring in the pool area (911). Knowledge of all Lenox Baker Children???s Hospital policies and procedures relevant to the lifeguard position as outlined in manual. Ability to test pool chemicals and knowledge of proper ranges for tests. Administer and document chemical balancing as necessary and/or notification of Aquatics Coordinator. Recognizing major maintenance issues and reporting to the Aquatics Coordinator and/or Clinical Manager. Document clinically relevant issues or incidents by notifying the Aquatics Coordinator and Clinical Manager.

Experience

6-12 months guarding experience preferred.

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification

Lifeguard/CPR CertificationFirst Aid

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must be able to push-pull, lift-carry >50pounds
