General Description of the Job Class

Under the direction of the Director of Imaging Services, with limited supervision and broad general directions, shall improve patient and work flow via providing support, education and leadership to the technical staff maintaining a high level of technical skill and competence. Performs functions necessary in specific software/IT applications, testing, implementation and on-going support and maintenance and training for all information systems related to PACS/RIS. Technical responsibilities include: hardware installation and support, desktop system support and systems documentation. Ensures quality control is performed and reported on departmental equipment as well as contributes to departmental performance improvement. Supports and actively promotes the mission and vision of Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science required. Master of Science in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience is acceptable. Must demonstrate effective communication skills (in English) by verbal and written presentation.

Experience

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification

Registration by the governing body of one of the radiologic modalities.

BLS Certification required.
