General Description of the Job Class

Develop, implement and maintain common accounting, financial and statistical processes and documentation for all DUHS business units and for corporate DUHS financial and statistical reports; ensure timely periodic production of DUHS financial analysis, consolidations and DUHS statistical reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

Develop, implement and maintain common financial and statistical reporting formats for all DUHS business units and corporate DUHS including system for timely review and analysis of business unit data for accuracy and consistency; coordinate follow-up with appropriate business unit finance personnel on a 'same-day' basis for answers to technical inquiries.

Produce and/or ensure timely periodic production of DUHS financial consolidations and DUHS statistical reporting enforcing aggressive financial and statistical reporting calendar and maintain compliance with prescribed format for all DUHS business units.

Develop application skills including, but not limited to SAP R/3 and Hyperion, to allow determination of most efficient data compilation methods Consult with general accounting, budget planning and the business units regarding data adequacy and risks.

Provide liaison with DUHS senior financial management, DUHS business CFO's, Finance Directors, University senior accounting and finance personnel, and internal auditors regarding financial and statistical reporting.

Represent DUHS to external auditors, credit rating agencies, bond holders and consultants regarding financial and statistical reporting.

Recommend various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, transfers, promotions and vacations schedules.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education

Position requires the organizational, analytical and communication skills normally acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program. MBA preferred.

Experience

Work generally requires 6 years of progressive accounting, financial management and/or financial auditing experience including knowledge of financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and FASB standards.

A Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field may be substituted for 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification

CPA Preferred
