General Description of the Job Class

Responsible for providing leadership, organization, financial planning and management of a division of Network Services.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

Monitor the operational and financial performance of the department. Develop standards for monitoring performance.

Coordinate the resource needs for areas of responsibility, including developing departmental budgets, financial management and contracting.

Coordinate the establishment of schedules, task assignments, and allocation of resources to ensure conformance with specified objectives and policies.

Provide administrative direction to staff within area of responsibility including employment and terminations, assuring staff are adequately trained, evaluating employee performance and supporting professional development.

Ensure coordination with other Duke departments and/or outside groups. May ensure efficient and orderly performance of customer contact and enterprise-wide marketing activities.

May provide executive leadership and strategic planning with Board of Directors.

May engage in contract negotiations.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education

Position requires analytical, organizational and communications skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program. Master of Health Care Administration or MBA preferred.

Experience

Work requires a minimum of five years management experience within the healthcare industry.
