General Description of the Job Class

This role reports to the supply chain director. Is responsible for the execution of supply chain strategies; the optimization of logistics, synchronizing supply and demand, measuring performance, embedding leading practice and ensuring continuous improvement. The associate director of supply chain will manage the day to day operations of supply chain and associated operations; staffing, training, budget, policies and overall performance management.

The associate director will guide the optimization and standardization of all supply chain automation tools and software within the hospital to include distribution of supplies, logistics, laundry and linen services, receiving and inventory management. Including, but not limited to, the utilization of point-of-use inventory management processes and technologies, as well as the appropriate balance between logical unit of measure replenishment processes and techniques and the deployment of bulk inventory methodologies, where appropriate. The associate director will support and implement the supply chain vision and strategy as communicated from the director of supply chain, ensure supply chain practices adhere to industry standards and best practices, regulatory compliance, minimize risk and align with and support the Health System's strategic initiatives. This role will work very closely with support services leaders and clinical leaders.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

Provide leadership for supply chain associates relative to supplies, logistics, laundry and linen services, receiving and inventory management.

Responsible for leading and managing managers and supervisors; including setting goals and expectations, providing guidance and support, and evaluating performance.

Plan, coordinate and administer the financial, administrative and technical operations of supply chain. Will provide budget approval.

Responsible to budgetary, planning and objectives, and initiates corrective action as necessary.

Work collaboratively with leadership, clinical and non-clinical, to develop and maintain programs and processes designed to ensure compliance of service delivery standards; take appropriate actions by implementing and managing customer service level agreements (SLA) and surveys.

Participate in the interview process and candidate selection of new supply chain managers and supervisors Oversee and administer the training and education of supply chain associates to ensure high levels of quality and productivity.

Maintain a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects safe, honest, ethical, and professional behavior which support the vision and value of the organization.

Be a leader and role model within the organization, setting an example for others to follow and inspiring others to achieve their best work.

Serve as an operational and technical resource representing supply chain. Serve as a point of escalation for internal and external key stakeholders and the supply chain team. Collaborate and negotiate resolution for issues in relation to supply chain.

Model and foster continuous improvement mindset with supply chain teams. Identify opportunity for efficiency, elimination of waste and risk mitigation.

Overseeing the performances and productivity levels of supply chain associates.

Be an exceptional cross-functional collaborator, both internally across the organizational functions and externally with strategic suppliers. Listens well, is open to objective discussion, and then moves forward with absolute commitment once recommendations and decisions are reached.

Ensure appropriate staffing model, tools and resources to efficiently and effectively complete supply chain daily duties and meet supply chain commitments.

Monitors and reports quality and productivity metrics and takes appropriate action.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field. Preferred degree in logistics.

Experience

5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or healthcare leadership/management. 2 of the 5 years of experience must be in supply chain/logistics and 1 of the 5 years of experience must be in a management capacity.
