General Description of the Job Class

In conjunction with DUHS, PDC, and other entity leadership, this position is responsible for strategic development, implementation and operation of the PRMO. The COO (PRMO) is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the PRMO, as well as playing an integral role in the strategic direction, goal-setting and performance management of the PRMO. This position will have as direct reports all operational areas of the PRMO, including: Service Access, Charge Entry, Revenue Management & Coding, Professional and Hospital Billing & Collections, Customer Service, Cash Management and Payment Application, Information Systems, and Contract Coordination.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

Work closely with Executive Director, and Senior Vice President and CFO of DUHS to develop a strategic plan to advance the mission, vision, and values of the PRMO.

Work closely with the Executive Director to implement the goals, objectives and strategic plan for the PRMO.

Oversee and manage all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the PRMO, including service delivery, financial performance, human resource management, contract negotiation, legal, and other compliance.

Take a leadership role in the establishment of performance indicators for all PRMO functions and monitor performance against operating goals.

Serve as final approval for all PRMO operational procedures, policies and standards.

Lead capital planning and budget activities.

Represent the PRMO to outside constituencies and network with local business and community leaders.

Identify, develop, and implement technology to support the safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of our patients.

Participate in the integration of business and clinical information systems in all clinics to foster improved revenue cycle performance in a patient centric manner.

Foster an employee culture that supports the PRMO strategy.

Establish individual performance expectations for direct reports and regularly evaluate their performance against organizational objectives.

Provide coaching and counseling as necessary and oversee the performance evaluation process for entire organization.

Monitor the external environment as it relates to PRMO operations to anticipate and adapt to significant changes.

Lead the PRMO communication effort both internally, through active enterprise communication to all employees, as well as externally through bulletins, organizational announcements and reports.

Insure compliance with federal, state and managed care requirements.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
