General Description of the Job Class

Provides leadership, direction and management responsibilities for the Clinically Integrated Network. The director ensures the operational success for the Clinically Integrated Network including management of the Medicare Shared Savings Program and development of additional programs. Responsible for providing leadership, organization, financial planning and management, compliance, and contracts for Duke Connected Care.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

Responsible for contract negotiations, strategic development, and reporting support.

Develop, design and recommend strategies or activities intended to improve performance in clinical quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance for all programs.

Direct implementation of functions of DCC, including program development, quality, fiscal management, compliance and contracts. Creates and monitors the delivery of quality coordination of care among Duke Connected Care participants.

Responsible for the operational and financial performance of Duke Connected Care. Develop standards for monitoring and analyzing performance.

Ensure the infrastructure for areas of responsibility, including developing budgets, financial management and contracting. Coordinate the organization???s overall needs and direction by implementing all of the related programs of Duke Connected Care. Direct resources to ensure conformance with specified objectives and policies.

Oversees supervisory and personnel management of Duke Connected Care???s operations. Directly manages team of staff for clinical services. Responsible for overall performance, recruitment, retention, and professional development for numerous managers as part of the collective Duke Connected Care program.

Develops and fosters effective collaboration among clinical departments, academic departments/divisions, and other affiliated services to ensure an integrated approach to achieving the goals and objectives of the Clinically Integrated Network. Creates productive physician faculty relationships to assure collaborative problem solving and supports physician leadership???s initiatives.

Direct and and administer activities of assigned programs to include developing, implementing, and supervising related procedures, processes, services and systems; train employees in proper methods and procedures and ensure correctness of work.

Ensure coordination with other Duke departments and/or outside groups including all participants of Duke Connected Care. Required to ensure efficient and orderly performance of customer contact and enterprise- wide marketing activities.

Provide executive leadership and strategic planning with Duke Integrated Network Member Board and Duke Connected Care Board of Managers.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education

Requires Master's of Health Care Administration or Masters in a related field

Experience

Work requires a minimum of seven years management experience within the healthcare industry and clear understanding of reimbursement, regulatory issues in the provision of health care services. Significant experience in health care operations, management, planning (5 years minimum). Clinical experience strongly preferred
