General Description of the Job Class

Provide psychosocial assessments of patients to identify emotional, social, and environmental issues. Formulate, develop and implement individualized patient treatment plan. Facilitate group sessions and provide one-on-one cognitive behavioral psychotherapy.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

Conduct psychological assessments. Develop individualized treatment plans for each patient assessed.

Deliver individual cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy.

Provide in-patient consultation to patients with acute psychological issues.

Score and review psychometric testing.

Consult with patients??? outside mental health providers as available.

Provide appropriate referrals to outside mental health services as indicated or requested.

Provide patients with information about support groups and/or additional educational resources as indicated or requested.

Facilitate Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) group sessions for patients. Meet individually with group patients who appear to have significant issues.

Assess patients identified to have potential psychological emergencies. Consult with colleagues and/or Risk Management as necessary for unusual or emergency cases.

Maintain detailed medical records for every contact (individual and group) and clinical phone calls.

Maintain list and treatment plans for patients on Psych Delay in computer database. Track delayed patients on-going progress through consultation with their mental health provider or through their in- patient psych record (as available).

Bill for services through MD Everywhere. Complete a HICFA form for each patient encounter as indicated by insurance and visit type.

Track weekly and monthly patient volumes by category.

Update and maintain Insurance Waiver Notification forms and psychology fee schedule for administrative and financial staff.

Perform other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education

Work requires a Psychology Degree at the Ph.D. level

Experience

Work requires 2 years experience in counseling or a related field.

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification

Licensed Psychologist in State of North Carolina

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

A solid knowledge of clinical psychology practice.

Ability to work effectively and autonomously in a self directed role.

Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal and team building skills.

Ability to prioritize multiple work assignments and manage time efficiently.
