General Description of the Job Class
Exercise leadership and management responsibility over all functions within assigned management portfolio ensuring efficient services that are designed to meet the needs of patients, physicians, the public, and staff within a DUHS Institute/Center.
Duties and Responsibilities of this Level
??? Develop and foster effective collaboration between clinical departments and other affiliated services to ensure an integrated approach to providing services, and fulfilling our clinical, research and educational goals and objectives. ??? Function as an effective liaison and intermediary between Nursing Administration, DUHS Administration, the SOM Divisions, and the various clinical departments who are primary stakeholders. ??? Develop new business strategies to enhance market share and improve overall performance. ??? Work with Leadership teams throughout the hospital, serving as a resource to help reduce costs, enhance revenues, achieve effective utilization and quality goals and objectives, analyze and utilize information to develop and support management decision. In general, coordinate the delivery of clinical care related to these areas in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Nursing Officer, among others. ??? Communicate key information to the stakeholders of these service areas with respect to managed care, marketplace needs, the competitive environment, cost management, and customer-focused programs and services. ??? Lead and support key committees pertaining to these service areas. ??? Oversee any renovations in the area of responsibility. ??? Coordinate the determination of fiscal requirements of assigned departments and review budgetary recommendations (capital and operating): monitor, verify, and reconcile expenditure of budgeted funds.
Required Qualifications at this Level
Education
Work requires a Master's degree in a related field; or equivalent experience.
Experience
Work requires a minimum of 5 years experience in responsible hospital operations including at least three years at the administrative leadership level.
Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification
None required beyond what is specified above.
