General Description of the Job Class

This position is part of the Private Diagnostic Clinic, PLLC???s (PDC) legal department. This position is responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of contracts using knowledge of contract management processes, using independent judgment and technical expertise, and analytical skills, as well as conducting legal research, drafting and reviewing contracts, and performing other tasks under the supervision of PDC Legal Counsel.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

-- At the direction of PDC Legal Counsel, monitor and oversee the development, execution, renewal, and periodic review of clinical contracts;

-- Oversee, monitor, make decisions regarding contract processes and expirations, and update databases maintained by PDC Legal Counsel to ensure timely review of existing contracts;

-- Collaborate with outreach/affiliated sites for development of clinical contracts;

-- At the direction of PDC Legal Counsel, draft and review contracts and other legal documents;

-- Serve as primary liaison between PDC Legal Counsel and Departmental administrators and managers in connection with management of clinical contracts;

-- Serve as primary liaison between PDC Legal Counsel and PDC Finance and operations staff with regard to the implementation and monitoring of clinical contracts;

-- Assist in the development and execution of agreements with prospective physicians joining the PDC, and monitor and periodically review existing agreements;

-- In coordination with PDC Legal Counsel and PDC Facilities, oversee and monitor real estate and equipment lease agreements to ensure that agreements are timely reviewed and renewed, as needed;

-- Establish and maintain well-defined contract management processes for PDC to improve consistency and efficiency, and to ensure periodic review and updating as needed;

-- Provide periodic reports to PDC Legal Counsel regarding pending and active agreements;

-- Conduct legal research, as needed.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education

Associates degree in paralegal studies and/or equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience. Requires general knowledge in the legal and medical fields.

Experience

Two years working in related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience.

-- Ability to analyze data and formulate conclusions;

-- Ability to use professional judgment and decision-making skills to determne appropriate actions related to the management of PDC contracts;

-- Ability to learn changing technologies related to contracts management;

-- Proficient use of computers; requires solid working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, Power Point);

-- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization;

-- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects/tasks simultaneously;

-- Ability to create verbal and written reports.
