General Description of the Job Class

The Talent Acquisition (TA) Specialist conducts full life cycle recruiting for high volume/entry level positions. The TA Specialist is responsible for supporting a pro-active team environment that allows DUHS Nursing & Patient Care Services to gain a competitive advantage in the recruiting/talent acquisition marketplace. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be detail oriented with proven customer service skills and strong technology capabilities. The TA Specialist conducts full life cycle recruiting including sourcing, phone screens, face to face interviews, selection, compensation administration, facilitation of pre- employment screening and on-boarding activities for entry level positions at Duke University Health System.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

The Talent Acquisition Specialist manages the full life cycle recruitment process for Duke by identifying a well-qualified, diverse pool of candidates through a variety of methods, including but not limited to, job board posting, database searching, cold calling, advertisement, career fairs, networking events, social media, employee referrals.

- Develop creative recruiting strategies and proactively build a pipeline of candidates for entry-level, high volume and repeat roles. This will include active and passive candidate sourcing.

- The Talent Acquisition Specialist establish and develops solid working relationships with hiring managers throughout the recruiting process.

- The Talent Acquisition Specialist handles all administrative functions associated with full life cycle recruiting; including, entering candidates' information (as appropriate) into ATS/Brassring, scheduling phone interviews, onsite interviews and administering assessments.

- Track all requisition and candidate status information in the applicant tracking system; provide reports as necessary.

Program Development and Implementation: The Talent Acquisition Specialist builds and manages productive partnerships with hiring managers, and HR Centers of Excellence (COE's) with the ability to influence hiring decisions, to gain the trust as a knowledgeable talent acquisition consultant/solution provider.

- Demonstrate managerial courage and provide timely and actionable constructive feedback while working with the COE???s and hiring managers.

- Resolve issues quickly and directly in order to maximize performance.

- Advises and guides hiring managers regarding staffing issues as they relate to position management, requisitions and any other issues that may arise.

Data Analysis

- Collaborate with hiring managers on the type of candidates that would best fit the needs of the department from an education/experience perspective and also from a cultural, soft skills perspective as well.

- Maintain all relevant information in ATS/Brassring to provide transparency to the TA/Recruiting team and others, while also ensuring integrity of reporting data.

- Manage and initiate reference checks, background checks, and onboarding process for any pending new hires.

- Provide effective talent-related decision support through the use of timely and meaningful data, analysis, metrics and dashboards.

- Maximize the efficiency and application of the ATS/Brassring on a real-time basis (review applicant qualifications, disposition applicants respectively and provide consistent and accurate tracking documentation).

Drive continuous improvement across the TA/Recruiting organization team

- Actively engage in learning opportunities for the TA/Recruiting organization as well as training sessions for hiring managers such as: behavioral interviewing, training on the ATS/Brassring and other selection specific technology/tools to include Skill Survey at Duke University Health System.

- Adheres to all compliance and regulatory requirements.

- Develop, enhance and maintain relationships with current and new diversity organizations and partnerships; manage relationships with external diversity organizations and influencers.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education

Bachelor's degree required

Experience

A minimum of one (1) year of professional work experience required.

Previous experience utilizing an ATS (application tracking system) is preferred.

Previous experience in data analysis and interpretation preferred.

Previous experience with social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter) is preferred.

Previous experience in health care, pharmaceuticals, health insurance or related industry preferred.

Previous experience successfully managing projects involving multiple stakeholders with a consistent track record of delivering on-time, high quality results.

Exceptional organizational and administrative skills, at ease with abundance of details and complexity, yet mindful of big picture, ability to hand multiple tasks prioritize them and carry them out with little to no supervision required.

Excellent skills in influence, negotiation, collaboration, and handling difficult conversations required.

Skilled with competency and behavior based interview and assessment preferred.

Adept with using a variety of recruiting technologies to source talent (internet sourcing, direct recruiting, and networking methods) preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Demonstrated self-motivation, energy and tenacity in achieving results; optimistic yet realistic; upbeat attitude; ability to work in fast paced, growing environment required.

Organized, detail oriented, and the ability to work independently and with a team required.

Flexibility to travel both locally, regionally and nationally to represent Duke University Health System is required.
