General Description of the Job Class

The Talent Acquisition Strategist will partner with the Talent Acquisition (TA)/Recruiting organization to build a talent community niche, mid-level and executive roles to hire world-class talent for a variety of roles at DUHS Nursing & Patient Care Services Talent Acquisition. The ideal candidate will have notable experience with developing direct sourcing plans using innovative and proactive search techniques, candidate assessment, and managing candidate and client relationships for niche, leadership, mid-level and executive roles.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

The Talent Acquisition Strategist is responsible for delivering all facets of sourcing and recruiting for DUHS. This will be achieved through the development of local, regional and national (where applicable) recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas. The Talent Acquisition Strategist partners with TA/Recruiters to deeply understand technical requirements, key competencies, and cultural fit and, in turn, determine effective ways to build talent pipelines for critical, difficult-to-fill roles. ??? Develop talent pipeline through referral generation, leveraging external professional networks and alternative search techniques to target, attract, and develop passive candidates. ??? Consistently meet or exceed established sourcing and recruiting metrics and goals around candidate generation, interview activity, and ultimately agency fee mitigation. ??? Manage relationships with the TA team and the Nursing/Patient Care Services Hiring Managers in a high-touch recruiting environment; build credibility via seamless execution of search, rigorous attention to detail, and expert advisement around talent acquisition best practices and candidate selection. ??? Manage high volume search workload via direct sourcing, employee referrals, and search partner relationships, as well as ongoing pipelining, and mining of talent in the applicant tracking system (ATS)/Brassring and other research database sources. ??? Conduct positive and enthusiastic cold calls to passive candidates to present opportunities for critical, difficult- to-fill roles. Performs structured screening and assessments to ensure applicants meet both job, organizational requirements and fit for the role. ??? Interview candidates to accurately assess skills, competency and fit within the Duke culture, and promote the opportunity. ??? Maintain candidate slates and pipelines; build talent communities. ??? Partner with other members of HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to develop workforce plans to meet future staffing goals and drive a more diverse workforce. ??? Maintain the high standard for talent at DUHS, continuing to raise the bar and leading new ways to think creatively about talent acquisition for Duke into the future. ??? Provide thought leadership in driving the direction and synthesis of the prospective and new candidate experience.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education

Bachelor's degree required.

Experience

A minimum of five (5) years of progressive Talent Acquisition/related experience required.

Previous experience in data analysis and interpretation required.

Previous experience successfully managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders with a consistent track record of delivering on- time, high quality results.

Previous experience as a change agent, comfortable with ambiguity, in a fast-paced business environment required.

Previous experience operating in a consultative and/or advisory capacity required.

Experience in developing and delivering recruitment strategies and processes to improve outcomes (decreased time to fill, increased quality of hire, etc.) required.

Previous experience in executive search strongly preferred.

Previous experience in health care, pharmaceuticals, health insurance or related industry preferred.

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification

PHR, CHR, RACR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SCP; AIRS CIR, CDR, CMVR certification or comparable professional designation is strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Exceptional organizational and administrative skills, at ease with abundance of details and complexity, yet mindful of big picture. Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize them and carry them out independently required.

Adept with using a variety of recruiting technologies to source talent (internet sourcing, direct recruiting, and networking methods) required.

Excellent skills in influence, negotiation, collaboration, and handling difficult conversations required.

Skilled with competency- and behavior-based interview and assessment required.

Knowledge of state and federal employment laws.

Flexibility to travel locally, regionally and nationally to represent DUHS is required.
