General Description of the Job Class

This position is responsible for managing the delivery of Performance Excellence programs for Duke Primary Care and Urgent Care.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

Continuous Improvement: Lead the DPC Performance Excellence team in knowing and applying DPC Continuous Improvement System standards to improve processes and develop people in their facilitation of work and within the work of the Performance Excellence department. Develop and deploy strategies for ongoing enhancements to the system, training and tools.

Quality: Works to improve the quality results for Duke Primary Care through development of network strategies, deployment of resources and integration with continuous improvement system. Works with and teaches network and practice leaders to interpret and evaluate data to improve process using Continuous Improvement Methods, PDSA thinking and other problem solving tools. Develops and supports relationships that create an environment where individuals and team members learn and grow professionally.

Develops and supports effective team interactions through open and honest communication, receptive to feedback, mentoring, and development of the strategic service associates.

Develops network and practice leadership skills by working effectively with other leaders on continuous improvement activities. Uses their leadership abilities to influence others to perform the continuous improvement methods while also using change management methods.

Manages the patient advocate program and advocates for improvement of the quality care of patients in all improvement activities and ensures timely response to patient complaints and grievances. Works with leaders and staff to align improvement of outcomes and experiences for patients.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or related field. Master's degree preferred

Experience

Five years of experience with one year of experience in leading or coordinating projects or work teams.
