General Description of the Job Class

The Director, Corporate Finance is responsible for Health System Level finance functions, supporting a $3+ Billion organization. Concentrations can include operational and capital budgeting, capital allocation and analysis, administrative budgeting, and financial planning for DUHS. The Director will establish and oversee processes and policies required to fulfill their responsibilities, usually requiring working with other corporate areas as well as entity finance. The position will demonstrate leadership amongst finance teammates as well as when interacting with unit leadership and DUHS senior leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

-Set strategic direction for functional area including FTE resources, interdependencies with other teams and schedules. Establish meaningful deliverables for senior leadership.

-Execute functional portion of annual financial plan process. Manage internal and external teams to do so.

-Prepare effective and informative analysis to describe the position and outlook of the organization

-Maintain relevant areas of financial analysis platform and collaborate with other stakeholders to maximize investment

-Provide strategy and guidance in managing the corporate budget process and monitoring the administrative burden of the Health System

-Provide forward thinking and vision about future process improvements and lead implementation of changes as necessary

-Prepare compensation plan analysis to support financial planning process

-Establish and maintain process for evaluating capital resource allocation.

-Evaluate prior capital projects for effectiveness and efficiency

-Coordinate with CHRO office and Performance Services to execute the calculation of incentive compensation

-Lead a professional staff inclusive of analysts and entity leaders in System wide repetitive and non-repetitive projects.

-Participate in the development of the DUHS financial policies, and demonstrate understanding of strategic direction, key initiatives and success factors.

-Participate in strategic business opportunities as assigned

-Special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or related field. CPA and/or MBA or MHA preferred.

Experience

Seven years related experience is required. Financial and managerial reporting experience with GAAP or budgeting and financial analysis experience required. Healthcare experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The position should also demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail. Strong traditional and modern IT skills are important, as well as the ability to perform in a high pressure environment deadline oriented environment
