General Description of the Job Class

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

Provides strategic leadership and oversight of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis, accounting, capital and business planning.

Develops, implements and executes financial strategies to drive business growth and profitability, including implementation of financial models, methodologies and decision support systems. Ensure compliance with DUHS targets, deadlines, and expected deliverables and in coordination with School of Medicine, Academic Department and Facility leadership to ensure alignment.

Leads the financial planning and budgeting process, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and capital and business planning. Develop rolling forecasts for all components of the operating entity to inform cash projections and other decision -making processes.

Partners with senior leadership to communicate financial results. Contributes financial expertise and recommendations for effective decision-making.

Drives strategic and operational process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the finance function.

Collaborates with Departmental and Clinical leadership to develop and maintain departmental financial reporting packages that provide operational metrics, variance analytics, and performance improvement recommendations.

Direct and develop a high-performing finance team by providing leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education

Work requires organizational, analytical and communication skills acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program in accounting, finance, business or related field.

A master's degree in a business is strongly preferred.

Experience

Seven years of progressive accounting, finance, business or related experience. Supervisory experience required. Experience in healthcare preferred.

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification

CPA preferred.
