General Description of the Job Class
The Clinical Systems Analyst Works collaboratively with physicians, physician offices, nurses, clinicians, departmental leadership, Quality, Patient Safety, Accreditation, and Information Systems staff to clarify needs, prioritize requests, recommend workflow enhancements, and execute change and adoption management of the EMR and other healthcare information technology (HIT) initiatives (i.e. Meaningful Use, Clinical Documentation, CPOE, and HIE). The Clinical Systems Analyst will assist in documenting current workflow processes, performing gap analysis, and identifying needed process changes to ensure compliance with the use of technology to optimize care delivery processes and effectively communicate patient care activities.
Duties and Responsibilities of this Level
Required Qualifications at this Level
Education
Bachelors Degree in information management, computer science, health informatics or nursing.
Experience
Three (3) or more years of clinical system implementation experience with a physician practice or an acute care clinical information system - multi-facility environment desirable.
