Manage, supervise, and maintain all Duke Faculty Club recreational facilities to include, but not limited to tennis courts, basketball courts, swimming pools, fitness rooms, buildings, equipment, grounds, and housekeeping operations.
Tennis & Basketball Courts - Maintain all Duke Faculty Club courts including but not limited to clay and hard surface tennis courts, basketball courts, and related ancillary operations. Maintain clay courts to include rolling, brushing, scarifying, watering, as well as diagnosing and correcting irregularities and trouble spots in the playing surface. Maintain hard tennis courts and basketball courts to include clearing playing areas of debris, as well as diagnosing and correcting irregularities and trouble spots in the playing surface. Replace or repair tapes, nets, straps and posts. Lute, patch, resurface and repack clay tennis courts yearly. Coordinate, with the Executive Director and Tennis Director, schedules for court use and maintenance, as well as suitability of courts for play after inclement weather. Enforce club rules and regulations on court usage. Procure supplies and review expenditure of funds to ensure compliance with budget.
Swimming Pools - Maintain all Duke Faculty Club swimming pools and related ancillary operations. Coordinate, with the Executive Director and Aquatics Staff, schedules for pool use and maintenance. Procure supplies and review expenditure of funds to ensure compliance with budget.
Fitness Rooms, Buildings, and Grounds - Manage seasonal employees, supervise, and maintain all Duke Faculty Club buildings, fitness rooms, furnishings, equipment, grounds, and housekeeping operations. Recommend and manage facility improvement projects ensuring compliance with departmental standards, and reviewing expenditure of funds to ensure compliance with budget; secure services to meet departmental needs for maintenance, repairs, and renovations. Perform long and short-term planning for Duke Faculty Club facilities budget expenditures; work with DFC management staff regarding building expenditure monitoring, proper billing and resolution of questionable charges.
General Duties - Assist the DFC management staff during club special events and recreational programming as required. Responsible for creating a welcoming and attractive environment that promotes safety, quality customer service, and excellence.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
