Occupational Summary

Prepare, cook and serve meals to crew and research party aboard the Duke University Marine Laboratory Research Vessel.

Work Performed

Prepare, cook and serve meals to the crew and research party aboard the Marine Laboratory Research Vessel.

Prepare foodstuffs for cooking by performing such tasks as washing, cutting, boning and trimming meat, fish and fowl. Clear soiled dishes and refuse from tables in messroom, scrape remaining food into garbage containers.

Wash dishes, silverware, glassware, pots, pans and utensils; clean trash and garbage containers; store utensils and equipment.

Clean galley, messroom and associated equipment; sweep and swab decks.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
