Assist in the operation and maintenance of the main engine and associated equipment aboard the Duke University Marine Laboratory Research Vessel.
Assist in the operation and maintenance of the main engine and associated equipment aboard the Marine Laboratory Research Vessel.
Perform maintenance and repairs on the main engine, auxiliary equipment, air condition and heating systems, pumps, motors, and oceanographic winches.
Stand watch as engineer-in-charge while at sea; record readings on thermometer connected to machinery; regulate engine and power load to operate ship. Perform duties of the Chief Engineer as requested or in the event of an emergency.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
