Perform a variety of clerical and manual tasks involved in maintaining inventory controls to include receiving, verifying, storing and issuing various supplies, materials and equipment.
Receive and unpack shipments and verify contents against purchase orders and invoices; record receiving reports on merchandise; prepare reports concerning shortages and damaged materials received; record receipt and pricing information on inventory records.
Write issue tickets when required; record stock issued from stock issue tickets on appropriate inventory records; record stock issue ticket information into log book and prepare batch headers for data conversion.
Inform supervisor of all merchandise received and of current status of all supplies in stock; assist supervisor in maintaining outstanding order, purchase order, and requisition files; assist in special and scheduled storeroom inventories.
Transport and transfer supplies and equipment from one area to another; fill requisition from various areas.
Maintain clean and orderly conditions in assigned work area.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Education/Training: | Work requires knowledge of basic mathematical and clerical principles normally acquired through high school education. |
Experience: | Work generally requires six months of stocking, moving, storage, inventory, clerical, accounting or related experience to acquired a practical knowledge of inventory transactions and record keeping requirements and techniques. One year of experience in a hospital material control/patient supply setting in materials management where a practical knowledge of hospital services inventory transactions and recordkeeping requirements and techniques are acquired may be substituted for the above requirements.
