Perform varied clerical duties of a complex and technical nature in support of general and special office activities to relieve supervisor of clerical and routine responsibilities and to maintain an efficient and effective operation.
Screen, sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and documents; respond to or process mail or documents independently in accordance with departmental procedures.
Set up and maintain varied computerized or manual files of records, reports and correspondence required for reference and efficient operation; maintain logs and records; compile and summarize lists and/or other information for regular or special reports from a variety of sources.
Review, verify and evaluate various records and reports in accordance with procedures; identify and resolve discrepancies, contacting appropriate source of information; maintain various accounting and budgetary records; review and reconcile transactions and initiate accounting documents in accordance with standard procedure. Prepare and/or compose routine and general correspondence in accordance with established procedures.
Type letters, forms, reports, records, and other related materials from rough drafts and corrected copy, ensuring correctness in format, spelling and grammar.
Answer telephone, take messages, screen calls and reply to questions in accordance with general instructions and office procedures and policies; transmit instructions and/or information to and from personnel; serve as office receptionist; greet, screen and direct callers to appropriate personnel.
Schedule or arrange activities effectively; make and confirm travel arrangements as necessary.
Make work assignments, review work and assist in the training of lower level employees.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Education/Training: | Work requires knowledge of basic grammar, mathematical and clerical principles normally acquired through a high school education. |
