Provide consultation, assistance, and instruction to departmental staff, faculty and students with respect to a wide variety of computer software and its applications; assist in analyzing software needs and recommending appropriate purchases and utilization.
Assist and instruct faculty members, staff members, and students in a variety of software applications; modify software and maintain liaison with programming personnel as necessary to meet user needs.
Assist department administrators by analyzing departmental and faculty software needs and requirements; assist in the selection and utilization of software, hardware, and software applications to meet the department's administrative, academic and research needs.
Install and maintain software for departmental users; set up new computer systems when appropriate.
Assist faculty, staff, and students in resolving software operating problems; serve as internal software consultant to department personnel by providing technical guidance. Maintain liaison with representatives of appropriate data processing operations to ensure utilization of current and relevant software applications.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Education/Training: | Work requires communications and analytical skills normally acquired through two years of post-secondary education in mathematics, computer science or a related field, or equivalent technical training in a computer-related field. |
Experience: | Work requires two years experience with computer operations or in a setting with high exposure to microcomputer software such as spreadsheets and databases to become familiar with a variety of software, hardware, and software applications. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE. |
