Occupational Summary

Coordinate and perform the clerical and manual tasks involved in the receipt, verification, storage and issuance of specialized equipment, materials and supplies.

Work Performed

Coordinate and perform the clerical and manual tasks involved in the receipt, verification, storage and issuance of specialized equipment, materials and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures for a self-contained specialty including but not limited to Vending Services, the Physics Storeroom and the Animal Care Facility. Coordinate and perform the handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, verification of new merchandise against purchase orders and invoices, price marking and the transfer of merchandise according to requisitions. Maintain outstanding order, purchase order and requisition files; conduct special and scheduled facility inventories.

Establish standing purchase orders; monitor inventories; assist in the buying of cyclical inventory.

Provide data for reports and analyses of stock turnover, new merchandise received, shortage or overstock of merchandise and damaged goods. Make work assignments and train lower level employees.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training:

Work requires the ability to coordinate the work of other employees, maintain records and files, and transport and receive incoming shipments generally acquired through a high school education.

 

Experience:

Two years experience in shipping/receiving or related setting.

OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Heavy lifting required.
