Occupational Summary

Coordinate and participate in a variety of technical tasks involved in the operation of motion picture cameras, television equipment, and audiovisual display devices.

Work Performed

Coordinate and participate in a variety of technical tasks involved in the operation of motion picture cameras and television control and recording equipment; edit a variety of videotape and motion picture film; direct the filming of both live and videotaped programs as required. Schedule the use of classroom audiovisual display devices to include slide and film projectors, tape records and videotape equipment; operate display devices as required.

Advise faculty and staff regarding application of audiovisual equipment and methods.

Diagnose malfunctions and make minor adjustments to audiovisual equipment to include projection, tape recording and television equipment.

Prepare departmental transfer reports for costs of services rendered; maintain related financial records.

Make work assignments; review work of lower level employees; assist in training new personnel.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training:

Work requires the ability to follow standard procedures in the operation of various audiovisual media equipment normally acquired through a full high school education.

 

Experience:

Work generally requires two years of experience in the operation of motion picture cameras, television equipment and audiovisual display devices to become skilled in the performance of routine technical duties associated with providing audiovisual support.
