Perform journeyman level carpentry work in the planning, laying out, construction, repair and assembly of temporary and permanent buildings, additions, partitions and wooden structures and fixtures; provide technical guidance and direction to lower level personnel.
Perform journeyman level carpentry work in the construction, repair and renovation of floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, and screens from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions.
Install glass in windows, doors and partitions; replace damaged ceiling and floor tile and other damaged equipment.
Operate woodworking equipment and machines to saw, plane, drill or mortise lumber for doors, cabinets, shelves, molding and related fixtures; cut mortises for locks and hinges; hang doors. Estimate amount of required lumber and supplies for projects; select the type of lumber and material necessary.
Inspect completed work and direct any rework or modification. Provide technical guidance and direction to lower level personnel.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Education/Training: | Work requires an educational background normally equivalent to a high school education with shop work courses. |
Experience: | Work requires 2 years of broad experience in carpentry to acquire knowledge of the methods and techniques of the carpentry trade. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE |
