Supervise and participate in the planning, laying out, construction, repair and assembly of temporary and permanent buildings, additions, partitions and wood structures and fixtures.
Supervise and participate in the planning, laying out, construction, repair and assembly of temporary and permanent buildings, additions, partitions and wood structures and fixtures in accordance with blueprints, sketches and verbal instructions.
Plan and schedule work for the group ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space and facilities for subsequent performance of duties.
Estimate time, cost and amount and type of lumber and supplies required for projects; requisition lumber and supplies required.
Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with blueprints, specifications, instructions and applicable federal, state and local codes; direct any rework or modification. Conduct periodic inspections of University buildings and facilities to determine repair needs; establish and coordinate programs of preventive maintenance.
Train and instruct new employees.
Supervise various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules. Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Education/Training: | Work requires an education background normally equivalent to high school with course work in skilled crafts or shop. |
