Perform general painting, finishing, coating and small sheetrock repair on University facilities
Assist painters in assigned work.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Read blueprints. Use riggings, hoist, ladders, scaffolding, lifts and other various equipment used in painting.
Repair and finish drywall for painting. Properly use, care, and maintenance for/or equipment used in painting trade.
Use hand and power tools safely. Erect scaffolding, ladders and lifts.
Knowledge of safety procedures for working on ladders, scaffolds and lifts. Correct protect surfaces adjacent to paint spraying areas.
Select brushes, rollers, pads, mitts and other related accessories for applying paint. Correctly store and maintain brushes and rollers.
Calculate scaffold loads, area load, live loads, concentrated loads, and cantilevered loads. Safely operate and maintain all paint equipment.
Use tools, materials and other methods for preparing surfaces for paint, and or coating. Identify different types of sealant and filters and apply these to construction substrates.
Use sand blasting equipment correctly and safely.

| Education/Training: | Work requires an educational background normally equivalent to a high school education with course work in skilled crafts or trades training, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. Possess a valid North Carolina driver's license. Completed forklift training. |
| Experience: | Completed Level 5, Painter I program requirements or have 3 years experience in painter trade and able to pass the required test for Level 6, Painter II OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE |
