Perform various tasks related to special events setup and assist Special Events Supervisor by providing on-site supervision to work crews.
Assist Special Events Supervisor by providing on-site supervision to crews of part-time, secondary and student employees in the setup, configuration and take-down of special events equipment.
Deliver specialized equipment to indoor and outdoor campus locations; set up equipment according to established event plan; ensure that equipment setup conforms to established standards for quality and safety, performing tasks such as measuring and correcting aisle widths to meet fire safety standards, leveling stage legs outdoors for performer safety and installing step units and safety railings where needed; maintain audience safety standards by ensuring that equipment is properly configured and locked for safe use; take down and return equipment to warehouse storage following events.
Configure specialized rooms to accommodate special events; use specialized techniques to include hydraulic bleacher extension systems and motorized divider partitions to install permanent equipment; deliver and setup portable equipment such as stage platforms and floor coverings in proper positions.
Confer as needed with sponsors at event sites to verify that equipment setups are as specified; advise and work with sponsors as necessary to accommodate last-minute or emergency changes in equipment setups.
Complete logs and forms to assist in billing for labor hours, equipment used, equipment lost or damaged and other information as required.
Maintain trucks used in delivery and pickup of equipment including routine fueling, oil checks and safety equipment checks as well as minor maintenance such as fluid replacement, tire changing and adjustment of hydraulic lift gate.
Repair special events equipment as needed, to include installing replacement stage platform legs, locks and braces.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Education/Training: | Work requires basic mathematical knowledge and ability to interpret diagrams generally acquired through a high school education. |
Experience: | Work requires six months experience in the set up of special events equipment or related experience. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Ability to lift items up to 50 pounds and NC driver's license required. |
