Occupational Summary

Perform specialized mechanical duties in the inspection, maintenance and repair of functional parts of automobile equipment and machinery; provide technical guidance and direction to lower rated personnel.

Work Performed

Perform specialized mechanical duties in the inspection, maintenance and repair of trucks, lawn mowers and automotive and power driven equipment.

Machine parts for automotive equipment and machinery according to specifications.

Assist in maintaining inventory of equipment, supplies and materials.

Follow a predetermined preventative maintenance program on automotive equipment and facilities.

Provide technical guidance and direction to lower level personnel.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this classification. Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training:

Work requires an educational background normally acquired through a high school education with course work in shop.

 

Experience:

Seven (7) years experience in automotive type equipment, including both light and medium duty equipment. Equivalent combination of relevant education and or experience will also be considered.

Class C driver license CFC certification Read electrical schematics Disassemble gasoline engines Recondition parts Troubleshooting
