Occupational Summary

Supervise Security Officers and recommend various personnel actions including, but not limited to, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, promotions, transfers, and vacation schedules.

Work Performed

Provide on-the- job training of new employees.

Analyze data regarding security activities to determine patterns and effectiveness of security activities.

Plan and develop work schedules ensuring adequate security coverage for the performance of security and special event activities.

Supervise the enforcement of parking regulations.

Review and approve reports written and submitted by security personnel and assist Police Officers when necessary.

Report and control unauthorized or suspicious persons, unsafe conditions or other irregularities.

Perform safety and equipment inspections.

Provide information and assistance to students, staff, and the general public.

Perform other security-related duties and tasks as directed.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training:

High School Diploma or GED, a valid North Carolina Driver's License required; Associates or Bachelors degree in any field preferred.

 

Experience:

Two (2) years of security related experience required; prior military, law enforcement, or security supervisory experience preferred; experience using personal computers including strong familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Windows applications preferred.
