Occupational Summary

The Assistant Supervisor conducts inspections, monitors performance, and maintains records, equipment, and supplies.

Work Performed

Establish and maintain housekeeping schedules and make work assignments for various housekeeping duties in the absence of the Senior Housekeeping Supervisor; in any of the service areas. Conduct comprehensive inspections to check the completion of work assignments. Ensure that assignments are properly staffed and employees have adequate supplies and equipment for completion of assignments.

Monitor employee performance; determine when disciplinary action is appropriate; ensure proper training of new and existing personnel.

Discuss general housekeeping procedures with personnel of the assigned area. Maintain records, equipment, supplies and general housekeeping activities.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training:

Work requires the ability to provide instructions and maintain records generally acquired through a partial high school education

 

Experience:

Work requires two years of cleaning or related experience necessary to obtain knowledge of scope of housekeeping unit operations, or 2 years as a lead worker or acting as supervisor. Familiar with accepted supervisory and personnel practices and standards.
