Occupational Summary

Assist in the planning, organizing and coaching of the Duke University basketball team.

Work Performed

Assist in the court and classroom instruction and coaching in basketball techniques and strategy of the Duke University basketball team; evaluate individual performance and provide leadership and instruction in areas of deficiency as required.

Participate in the collection and analysis of tactical and statistical data of opponent teams; assist in designing game plans and strategies.

Counsel team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters, coordinate with University Undergraduate Admissions Office to establish academic eligibility and arrange meetings between prospects and the University; recommend individuals for basketball scholarships.

Compile and assist in the analysis of game statistics for an assigned area of Duke basketball team performance.

Assist in the planning and administering of the off-season physical training program; provide special training for individual basketball team members as required.

Study, evaluate and recommend innovations in basketball strategy and equipment.

Represent the Duke University Athletic Department in professional, civic, charity and alumni events.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
