Occupational Summary

Perform a variety of administrative duties to relieve the President of Duke University of details of University and executive business matters.

Work Performed

Perform a variety of administrative duties with latitude for exercising discretion and judgment. Receive and answer correspondence both in the name of the incumbent and in the name of the President.

Arrange for and schedule appointments for President, including interviewing callers and making proper referrals; supervise the preparation of materials for meetings.

Plan or assist in planning of special projects or events as assigned; coordinate work with others involved in the project.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work describe herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training:

Bachelor's Degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience.

 

Experience:

Work generally requires five years of progressive clerical or project management experience to acquire strong skills in administrative, project management and/or basic research responsibilities as well as accepted office management, communications and research practices.
