Assist in the development, coordination and administration of student life, field education, and other related activities in the Duke University Divinity School.
Establish and maintain contact with representatives of colleges, churches, and other institutions to cultivate participation in the field education program and to provide information on Duke University Divinity School.
Coordinate activities for and provide support to student organizations; serve as advocate for student concerns within the administration; work with various committees to foster and support a sense of community among students and faculty.
Establish a chaplaincy relationship with students to include short term counseling and referral with regard to personal, family, vocational and professional issues.
Serve as chair of the Worship Committee to include responsibility for daily worship in the Divinity School; serve on other committees, such as Financial Aid Committee, as appropriate.
Assist in the development and implementation of field education activities to provide clinical training in the professional skills of the ministry to include placement, counseling, field training, site development and assessment services.
Visit field education sites to monitor field training, resolve problems and evaluate training experience; maintain liaison with field institution supervisors regarding methods and procedures used to achieve maximum benefits from the field training experience.
Assist in the development of policies and procedures; evaluate programs and activities and make recommendations for improvements or modifications; advise student organizations regarding University and Divinity School policies, procedures and regulations; assist in implementing policies adopted by the Ministry Studies Department.
Serve as liaison to annual conferences to arrange supervising pastor for students in candidacy program.
Prepare analyses and reports setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Education/Training: | Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program. |
Experience: | Work requires three years experience in academic administration, student services, placement or related setting to become familiar with activities related to student placement, internship, career counseling and related programs as well as general administrative activities.
