The Associate Director of Industry Partnerships & Strategic Programs serves as a senior leader within the IPSP team and is responsible for driving strategic industry growth, co creating high impact partnerships, and advancing thought leadership initiatives. This role oversees a high- priority therapeutic area or strategic key accounts and partners closely with faculty and operational leaders to advance business development and strategic program initiatives that amplify DCRI market position and mission. The Associate Director serves as a connector between external market needs and internal capabilities, while fostering team capability and cross-functional alignment.
TA CLIENT AND ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
Serve as strategic account lead for a high priority therapeutic area or set of strategic accounts, owning the business development lifecycle from relationship development through proposal and award.
Collaborate with faculty and operational leaders to position DCRI capabilities and align new business opportunities with therapeutic area strengths and growth targets.
Lead preparation and execution of client engagements, including client meetings, bid defenses, and follow up activities.
Act as a strategic business partner, cultivating long term relationships and co developing roadmaps for collaboration with key sponsors.
Track performance against therapeutic area revenue targets and proactively mitigate gaps through new leads or account expansion.
Partner with functional leaders (e.g., Clinical Operations, Proposals, Project Management) to build opportunity-specific teams and ensure successful handoffs.
Lead or directly support development of high-value proposals and strategic submissions.
STRATEGY
Business Development Strategy
Lead the development of therapeutic area or key account growth strategies in partnership with IPSP leadership, faculty, and marketing.
Shape account-based engagement models and frameworks for relationship development, customer satisfaction, and opportunity pursuit.
Translate market and sponsor insights into actionable BD approaches, institutional messaging, and visibility plans.
Represent DCRI at external engagements (industry forums, academic policy events, sponsor meetings) and synthesize learnings to inform internal strategy.
Collaborate with IPSP team and stakeholders to evolve business development processes, including use of Salesforce, dashboards, and metrics.
Strategic Programs
Oversee the development and execution of strategic programs???multi- stakeholder initiatives designed to amplify DCRI thought leadership and open new engagement pathways.
Lead program concepting, execution, and follow through for select initiatives (e.g., design studios, public private partnerships, convenings).
Develop external funding strategies, partner ecosystems, and delivery frameworks for DCRI wide initiatives.
Translate external policy, regulatory, or sponsor priorities into strategic offerings aligned to DCRI capabilities and faculty strengths.
TEAM LEADERSHIP AND ENABLEMENT
Mentor junior team members (e.g., Senior Business Development Associates), providing regular coaching, performance feedback, and strategic guidance.
Partner with Assistant Directors to ensure consistent execution across therapeutic areas and effective knowledge sharing.
Champion process improvements, tools, and practices that enhance team capability (e.g., onboarding, BD operations, proposal reviews).
Serve as a peer leader across IPSP, contributing to strategic planning, cross functional alignment, and team cohesion.
Support broader DCRI capability building efforts, such as strategic repositioning, TA overview development, and internal training.

| Education/Training: | Bachelor degree in business, science or other related discipline. |
| Experience: | 9 years combined marketing, sales, proposal, project management or business development experience at a Contract Research Organization (CRO), Academic Research Organization (ARO), or a comparable healthcare organization. Master degree preferred |
