Occupational Summary

Assist the Vice President and Director, Duke University Athletic Association in the direction and administration of Duke University Athletic Department events, programs and related activities.

Work Performed

Assist the Vice President and Director, Duke University Athletic Association in the direction and administration of activities of the Duke University Athletic Department including, but not limited to, analysis of personnel needs, fiscal requirements, policies and procedures, travel arrangements, schedules, ticket dispersals and intercollegiate athletics.

Determine fiscal requirements and prepare budgetary recommendations; monitor, approve and manage all financial transactions within the Athletic Department and Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. Coordinate scheduling, travel, financial aid, recruiting, and athletic policies for non-revenue sports.

Interface with the administration and faculty to coordinate athletic department affairs with other University activities and to resolve problems as required.

Coordinate the planning and strategy for Promotions and Iron Duke campaigns.

Exercise management responsibility over all functions relating to the Equipment Room, Training Room, Weight Room, Ticket Office, Business Office, Concessions, Sports Information and Golf Course.

Recommend various personnel actions, including, but not limited to, hiring, merit recommendations, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
