Occupational Summary

Serve as the DCRI's Rich Media Specialist to design, develop and execute creative and cost effective media strategies and deliverables that align with and support DCRI, its trials and studies, and its collaborative partnerships with other non profit organizations.

Work Performed

Work closely with the head of Digital Strategy to lead discussions with internal and external clients. Create comprehensive proposals; develop budgets and timelines. Execute on proposals on time and on budget, with an understanding of the need to be accountable for managing time and production schedules.

Demonstrate the ability to closely partner and collaborate with other Communications Specialists, fellows and faculty, supporting the larger goals for the client and/or trial, study or project. Be a communicative and responsive partner for DCRI Communications' Account Managers. Work with and within the DCRI Communications client team to update clients with project progress and developments.

Be responsible and accountable for managing the full depth and breadth of DCRI multimedia initiatives. Understand set design, lighting, camera placement, microphone usage and talent management. Be able to quickly assess the best way to capture video in any situation, quickly improvising and solving problems as they arise. Employ creative and specialized knowledge, methods, and techniques of videography, photography, motion graphics, audio design. Demonstrate high level of proficiency in video editing, web and multimedia software, as well as knowledge of live streaming video, content delivery networks and social media delivery websites.

Manage the acquisition, inventory and care for all DCRI Rich Media equipment, keeping the equipment safe, up to date, and easily accessible.

Manage and organize video and related digital assets in a library/channel based on a logical taxonomy and filing structure.

Be fully accountable and responsible for timely management of the operations of the Rich Media team within the established operations for DCRI Communications, including time tracking, budget tracking and project tracking. Understand the importance of these operational requirements to leading DCRI's Rich Media capabilities; demonstrate timely follow through.

Supervise staff in creating rich media concepts, storyboards, animations, audio scripts and documentaries. Recruit, select and train employees. Establish a "safety net" of efficient and affordable contractors. Maintain a safe, secure, and creative work environment and develop personal growth opportunities.

Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training:

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism or related field

 

Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of experience

OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
