Occupational Summary

Reporting to the Sr. Associate Dean for Full Time Programs, the Assistant Dean of the Daytime and MMS Programs manages the Daytime Office of Student Life, the International Programs Office, and the Fuqua registrars, and MMS student services. The Assistant Dean of the Daytime MBA and MMS program is responsible for operational and academics affairs, including, monitoring and managing the curricular and cocurricular experience, representing the interests of Daytime MBA and MMS students, and serving as a liaison between students, faculty, and the rest of the administration. The Assistant Dean of the Daytime MBA and MMS Programs provides community and team leadership, guidance and direction for the student experiences, and acts as liaison between students and the faculty.

Work Performed

Supervise and lead the Office of Student Life, the International Programs Offices, the Registrars, and the MMS (FOB and DKU) Program Team.

Manage overall departmental staffing and budgets.

Responsible for renewals of various contract employees.

Collaborate with the office of Student Life and MMS Program Team in oversite and delivery of orientation and graduation activities.

Manage year end events to include the annual awards ceremony, capstone day and Fuqua finale.

Oversee and deliver reorientation programming for returning students.

Align international travel opportunities with student interests and staff them as appropriate.

Partner with the Sr. Associate Dean for Full Time Programs to manage class schedule, course offerings, and enrollments.

Work closely with the MBA and MMS Association and administration to coordinate academic, career and club events and activities.

Respond to all inquiries related to Fuquas policies, practices and procedures.

Provide students with guidance related to issues of academic and personal concerns, including referrals to University resources for counseling and/or psychological service.

Serve on various Fuqua and University committees as assigned and needed.

Oversee the student conduct process including violations of the Fuqua Community Standard.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training:

Work requires a graduate degree in higher education or business administration, in student affairs or counseling in order to be able to achieve productive relationships with students and to be able to understand the complex University and business school academic requirements, policies and procedures.

 

Experience:

Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in higher education administration and/or counseling is required.
