Manage and coordinate the enrollment services functions for the Durham and Marine Laboratory campuses of the Nicholas School of the Environment (NSOE).
Serve as a member of the Dean's management team for NSOE, providing input regarding schooled decisions.
Supervise staff responsible for enrollment service functions; establish and implement policies and procedures that will enhance and support the enrollment functions of the School; prepare annual financial plan and manage expenditures in accordance with approved budget.
Establish and administer procedures involved in the recruitment and selection of student applicants within NOSE; establish policies and procedures for reviewing applications and admitting applicants; hire and supervise application readers; approve final admissions decisions and notify applicants of decisions.
Establish and implement a recruiting plan for NSOE to include identifying colleges and universities to visit, arranging recruiting schedules and developing recruiting activities involving alumni; establish programs to increase enrollment of under represented groups such as minority students; direct the development and update publications used in recruiting and admissions processes; establish and maintain a system for responding to inquiries for information about the School; advise prospective students regarding admissions standards procedures.
Establish and implement procedures for the maintenance of graduate/professional academic records and grade reporting from NSOE faculty to University Registrars Office; process student visa requests.
Work with faculty to establish an award strategy for merit based assistantships and scholarships; make awards and notify awardees of decisions; award endowed and other scholarship funds based on donor stipulations; prepare and submit institutional and School financial aid reports.
Administer activities involved in the Cooperative College Agreement to include following up on degree requirements, admissions standards and recruitment of potential applicants; identify new schools for participation.
Establish course schedules and update course listings; serve as liaison between NSOE and other schools and departments concerning joint degree programs.
Supervise the development and implementation of new student orientation programs.
Establish and maintain office computer systems for management of student records and reporting functions.
Serve on various School and University committees as appropriate.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
