Occupational Summary

The Associate Vice President provides leadership, strategic vision and oversight of departments, processes, personnel and policies pertaining to the provision of student services and facilities as well as administrative oversight including budgets, compliance and risk management of large and complex operations in the Division of Student Affairs.

Work Performed

Provide leadership on policy development, best practice, process improvement, risk management and compliance relevant to services and programs in Student Affairs.

Manage Division resources including personnel, facilities, business operations and budgets.

Act as a thought leader in the development, implementation and assessment of the Division's strategic plan.

Ensure high quality of service delivery in areas of functional oversight.

Handle special requests and policy exceptions.

Oversee special projects, committees, and task forces.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training:

Master's degree in a relevant field; doctorate preferred.

 

Experience:

Minimum ten years related work experience including progressively responsible in a higher education environment. Significant management experience in student affairs or a similar setting.
