Occupational Summary

The Assistant Director, Learning and Organization Development oversees the professional development academy, workforce development, organizational and professional development arms of the entity. This includes, but is not limited to, learning, organizational development, performance management, succession planning, talent assessment, leadership development, mentoring, multi rater assessments, and related LOD vendor relationships. The position is responsible for assessing organizational need and designing and deploying various leadership and organizational development programs, policies, tools, and processes that facilitate improved organizational performance and directs the development, deployment and management of all training initiatives within the organization, including overseeing required regulatory training requirements for the International Association for Continuing Education and Training body (IACET). Analyzes organization training needs and facilitates formal and informal presentations to senior management, and other internal groups as appropriate. Develops and manages client relationships and serves as an expert in area of expertise.

Work Performed

Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and internal consultant on adult learning, instructional design, executive coaching, performance improvement, and/or organizational development solutions, including leadership development, team building, etc.

Provides facilitation, team development, and front end analysis services in consultation with senior leaders to implement organization and department improvement initiatives.

Demonstrate sophisticated program/project planning skills to scope efforts, resource, schedule, and budget while also leading the program/project in a way that achieves results Applies effective change leadership strategies that help leaders and employees successfully engage in forward progress while increasing organizational performance.

Mature our approach to managing programs, curriculums, and development experiences including leading ongoing reviews to consistently assess program effectiveness.

Facilitate and deliver learning experiences, classes, team building, etc., particularly in the area of leadership and management development.

Maintain knowledge of emerging trends in the fields of talent management, individual and organizational learning, performance improvement, and organization development.

Facilitates and ensures development and delivery of training programs.

Manages departmental budget in collaboration with department leader to ensure deliverables are met in a fiscally responsible manner.

Oversees all training programs to ensure regulatory compliance with the International Association for Continuing Education and Training governing body (IACET).

Collaborates with senior leadership to identify strategic consulting and training needs, course design, and development and delivery methods.

Provides management oversight of static classroom and eLearning course offerings and identifies external resource consultants for leadership, writing, site start up work and best practices.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training:

Work requires a Master degree. Coursework or certification in instructional systems design, training delivery, and/or HPI (Human Performance Improvement) is highly desired.

 

Experience:

Requires a minimum of 7 years directly related professional level Human Resources training and/or management consulting. Experience designing and delivering online and classroom training. Experience managing the work of others, leading small teams, and representing their function on and coordination with cross functional teams is preferred. A reviewable portfolio of training deliverables is desired.
